Vienna Woods Hiking & Wine Tour
Discover gorgeous landscapes, picturesque villages and amazing wines on our farm-to-table Vienna Woods Hiking & Wine Tour
Wines, vines & good times!
If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city in favor of an active day out in nature, then join us in the gorgeous Vienna Woods to hike through forested trails and rows of lush green vines in Austria’s Thermal Region. The province of Lower Austria entirely surrounds Vienna and is considered the cradle of Austrian viticulture, so we want to take you to the beautiful vineyards of the Thermal Region, just south of Vienna. Home to historic wine villages & photogenic spa towns, we showcase this lesser known yet truly gorgeous Austrian wine region on our full-day Vienna Woods Hiking & Wine Tour. If you’re not much of a hiker but you want to investigate Austrian wine on a bike then check out our Burgenland Wine & Bike Tour instead!
Bespoke pricing options for larger groups
Naturally, we can also host larger groups than advertised, so do please get in touch with us directly to discuss bespoke pricing options for your private wine tours.
Wine enthusiast tour leader
Having considered many different potential itineraries to craft for my guests, I was so impressed with the beauty & wines of the Thermenregion Austria, that I was inspired to start Venture Vienna!
Gumpoldskirchen wine tastings
Alongside one the region's finest producers, we will introduce you to all of the Thermal Region's specialty wines. From the wonderfully unique Rotgipfler to a drop of Austrian Trockenbeerenauslese, and everything in between.

VIENNA WOODS HIKING & WINE TOUR: MEETING POINT
The Vienna Woods Hiking & Wine Tour begins at the meeting point, right outside the main entrance to Vienna's 'Wien Mitte' train station, next to the digital clock and temperature gauge. The station is very easy to reach on foot from practically anywhere in the city center, as it is centrally located. If you prefer to use other means of transport, then you can of course arrive via taxi or tram depending on where you are staying. The easiest method, however, is on the u-bahn (underground/metro). Just head to the u-bahn station 'Landstraße', which is on the U3 orange and the U4 green lines. Look for the 'Landstraße Hauptstraße' exits and you should then be at street level at the main entrance. We meet here at 09:10 in summer (Apr-Oct) and 09:40 in winter (Nov-Mar).
