Iron Curtain Bike & Wine Tour
Ride the border between Austria & the Czech Republic to see & taste this off-the-beaten-path yet truly magical region
Mikulov Wine Tour from Vienna
During the cold war, the Iron Curtain separated lands controlled by the old Soviet Union from 'western' countries. Austria was in the west, the Czech Republic in the east. On both sides of this 'Iron Curtain' each country produces amazing wines from two distinct regions: the 'Weinviertal' or 'Wine Quarter' of Lower Austria and the Mikulovská wine region of south Moravia. Both are steeped in viticultural tradition and history and are home to some incredibly beautiful villages and landscapes. Our Iron Curtain Wine Tour makes it possible for you to visit this area on a one day tour from Vienna, taking in all the very best that this hugely underrated region has to offer...
